Burda magazine

For some time I had been a little disappointed with what Burda came up with in their magazines. The patterns were just not up my alley.
This changed with last month´s issue (There are about 7 things I´d love to make) and when I got the Mayissue yesterday, I was again happy! I LOVE the safaristyle they had in Aprils magazine, and this time there are 5 items that really caught my eye! Hmmh, when am I ever going to sew all this??!!

I am planning on a little wardrobe, Safari style. Based on patterns from Burda April 08 and OOP Vogue 2635 (from 2002). I want to do the Vogue jacket and the blouse. Pants will be self drafted. And there are some tops in BWoF and a skirt that will hopefully work with it!

There is some other stuff I want to sew: I desperately need jeans. And my godchild and her sister are on the list for dresses. I also need summer dresses. And a travel wardrobe. And jackets. And and and...

I will start off with the wardrobe. There is a mini-wardrobe competition going on over at PR in May, so I will enter there and hopefully do the four items required. Gotta decide on fabric...

I really liked your Timmel SWAP. I am looking forward to seeing your mini wardrobe at PR.

I have tagged you, I hope you do not mind. This is a book tag, details are on my May 7 post.

I agree with you about Burda's offerings. I too have been rather disappointed with several issues lately. The styles have been a bit off I think, lot of bells and whistles that don't really work. I suppose what I want is good, flattering shapes combined with a designers twist.

That said, I too loved the April issue, it looked more like the way I want Burda to be. And I better check out the May issue now :)

Looking forward to your mini-wardrobe!
